Due to our
future expansion plans we have a position available for a qualified Canine
Hydrotherapist to join an established Canine Hydrotherapy Centre and Team, on
the South Coast in West Sussex.
With the
prospect of affiliation with the RCVS for Canine Hydrotherapy, the potential
for growth both in the market and for the individual is exciting and well
deserved. Roundstone Canine Hydrotherapy Centre plans to be very much a part of
this future and require a highly motivated individual to join us in our
existing business and our new development.
Applicants
must have a passion for learning and self-improvement and an interest in
passing their knowledge and experience on to others.
We
currently operate both pool and Underwater Treadmill and require applicants to
have achieved Minimum Level 3 in Small Animal Hydrotherapy and Advanced
Underwater Treadmill qualifications.
Newly
qualified Canine Hydrotherapists may apply as we have both the ability and
infrastructure to help with their advancement in this profession.
Full time
(4 days per week) or part-time considered depending on the right applicant. No
late evenings but some Saturday’s may be required.
The rate of
pay will reflect the industry experience of the applicant and will be discussed
at interview.

About Us
The Retreat, Canine Hydrotherapy and
Rehabilitation is in Okehampton, Devon and offers it client’s access to the
largest canine hydrotherapy pool in Devon and Cornwall, an underwater treadmill
and on-site physiotherapy (including laser treatment).
Main Purpose:
· Independently assess a patient’s
rehabilitation requirements, taking into consideration the patient’s current
condition, pre-existing health concerns and the referral information received
from the patient’s veterinary practice/surgeon.
· Design and implement a tailored treatment plan, using hydrotherapy, as appropriate.
· Revisit the treatment plan on an ongoing
basis and adjust the plan
to achieve the best
possible therapy outcome.
· Work with the patient’s owner to achieve
the best possible rehabilitation outcome for the patient.
· Liaise with the patient’s veterinary
practice/surgeon and other complimentary therapists, as appropriate.
· Promote the benefits of hydrotherapy.
Key Tasks:
· Develop and deliver a hydrotherapy
treatment plan to support the wellbeing, health and rehabilitation of the patient.
· Communicate with owners and third
parties (e.g., veterinary surgeon) on the patient’s rehabilitation journey, as
appropriate, in a clear and professional manner.
· Respond to enquiries from the public and
requests for information from insurance companies, veterinary practices and/or
complimentary therapists, as appropriate.
· Foster professional relationships with
owners by applying a patient, sensitive and tactful approach to client care and
strengthen collaborations with other professionals (e.g., veterinary
practices).
· Keep accurate records, write reports and
complete general administrative duties.
· Maintain the centre in accordance with
all applicable health and safety regulations and ensure that the centre is always
kept clean and tidy.
